"Down River" Blog Post #52

If you were Tally, would you ask the Warden to make you pretty?

Yes, because i would know that if i didn't do it i would be betraying Maddy who blames her for her husbands death and save many pretty lives. i would also be saving Shay, who is her best friend.

"confessions" blog post 51

tally has finally come clean. do you think she will regret it? do you think david will change his mind about her?

i don't think she will regret it because she knows she could save alot of people from lesions and be saving shay, her best friend. i don't think he will change his mind about her because he loves her and would do anything to save her.

"hippocratic" blog post 50

should maddy have forced shay to take the cure? why or why not?

no i don't think she should've because then she would be like dr. cable, horrible. also because az and her had made a promise to never do that.

"night" blog post 49

if you were shay, would you get the cure? whyor why not?

Probaly not because i would be pretty and an ugly is telling me to do something. also because there would be a chance that i would die.another reason is that i would probaly be too stupid to realize it could save me.

"get away" blog post 48

respond to the following quote from the chapter...what does it mean to you?
Tally thought of he lesions on shay's brain, the tiny concers or wounds or whatever they are that she didn't even know she had. they were in there somewhere changing her friend's thoughts, warping her feelings, gnawing at the roots of who she was?

To me it means that shay really isnt shay right now and tally cares about that. it also means tally would do anything to save shay.

"rescue Blog post 47

is this quote a play on words or does it have a deeper meaning to the story? radiology . neutrology. magnetic imaging. she read softly. operating theatre two.

it could have a meaning to the story because the rooms could mean that specials study and do all that stuff behind everyone's back.

interrogation room one-a room where the kinda interrogete people.
interrogation room 2-a room where they interrogate people alot.
isolation room 1-a room where they isolate peope that aren't too bad.
distrientation room 1- a room where they make prettys into specials.
radiology-a room where they study radiology
magnetic imaging- a room where they make cuts, and decide how to turn people.
neutrology-a room where new specials learn neutrology.

describe shay's appeareance at the end of the chapter using textual evidence.

"she was tall and elegant, every feature perfection. her eyes deep and soulful flecked with copper and gold widened with a troubled look."

"Over the edge" blog post 45

in this chapter a few uglies go to new pretty town to do a trick. they make the words "the smoke lives" with sparklers. if you had one chance to post a message important to you what would it be and why?

i would write keep moving forward because people always seem to quit when they can't do something.

accomplices blog post 44

the uglies met in this chapter are similar to tally at the beginning of the book. when you compare her to these uglies how has tally changed and what has changed?

she has changed because a trick to her is like nothing and she was not as mature . what has made her change is the smoke, the work she has done in the smoke and david.

familiar sights blog post 43

do you think tallys plan will work? david wants to save his parents. nut whats driving tally? do you think she is crazy or are her feelings valid?

yes i think what driving tally is her friends and her feelings for david. i think her feelings are valid because she is finally doing something right.

oil plague blog post 42

how do david and tally describe the rusties? itit accurate?

they described it as idiotic and horrible. i don't think they are very accurate.

What are weaknesses of our society?

"Amazing" Blog Post #39

Is David right? Is Tally amazing? Do you think she should be feeling guilty? Why or why not?

I don't think Tally is amazing because she just ditched all her friends and ran away. I think she should feel quilty because she should have known after all the Dr. Cable has put her through that if she destroyed it that it would activate the pendent.

"Run" Blog Post#38

Who is the voice in the dark? Do you think it will be a friend or an enemy to Tally? What do you think Tally will do now?

I think the voice in the dark is a Special circumstance person that is hiding to find Tally. Ithink the person will be a friend and help Tally escape. Ithink Tally won't do anything and stick her ground and fight if she has to.

"In Case of Damage" Blog Post #37

Explain what self preservation means to you. Is it the most important thing? Would you lie because of it?

I think self preservation is when you lie to somebody to get out trouble but not do anything about anyone else. No it is not the most important thing. Yes to be in honest i probaly would lie because of it.

"The Rabbit Pen" Blog Post #36

Tally had changed her mind about the smoke and the operation, but what will she do about all that now? Whose side is she on?

I think she is still on the Smoke side but has to forget about the Smoke and the operation in order to help herself and her friends.

"Invasion" Blog Post #35

Is this the climax of the book? Explain why or why not.

Yes because this might be the part where the Smoke disappears forever. This could also be the part where Tally tells everyone the entire truth of why she is there and why special circumstances is there.

"Burning Bridges" Blog Post #34

Read the following quote David says to Tally. "What you do, the way you think, makes you beautiful." Name one person in your personal life, and one in your academic life...what makes this person beautiful?

My mom because no matter what she has planned for herself she will cancel it for her children and her family. She is always there cheering me on and everybody likes.

My friends because when i am down they pick me up and when i am tired they make me laugh. they give me strength to carry on out through the day.

"Pretty Minds" Blog Post#33

Respond to the following quote, what does it mean to you/to the story? "Becoming pretty doesn't change the way you look...it changes the way you think." How would you want to change mentally and physically if you were "pretty"?

To me it means not only would i turn pretty but there is a consequence for turning supermodel gorgeous. to the story it could be something more than turning but when you turn pretty it changes the way you think and do entirelly.
I would want:
*smarter
*nicer
*more outgoing
*be able to talk in several languages.
*learn faster.

"The secret" Blog Post #32

What does the following quote tell you about the city and society in general? "But you do know about genetics don't you? Sure i know all about genes. I knew two sister, uglies, who looked almost the same. But parents and children? That's just weird."

It tells me that the city knows about genes but people don't know that children get their hair color and stuff from their parents. It also tells me people never look like their parents.

Predict what you think being "pretty" is.

I think it might be bad and being you know supermodel gorgeous but being under a disease that you don't know abot.

"Bravery" Blog Post #31

Find an example of imagery, personification and simile. Quote directly and give page numbers.

Personification-"The orchids choking the life out of other plants" pg.244

Simile-"Dr. Cable's pendent seemed to wound around her neck as tightly as the vines brush." pg.243

Does it require bravery to meet David's parents, why or why not?

Yes because his parents could used to be part of special circumstances and see her pendent and bust her. It also takes bravery because no one really else has met his parents before and Shay could find out Tally met them before she did when Shay likes David.

"Suspicion" Blog Post #30

Do you think Shay has a right to be jealous of Tally? Why or why not?

Yes because Tally knew Shay liked David and Tally shouldn't have tooken the gloves David gave when she knew that. And spend so much time with David and talk to him alot when her friend liked him.

Tally received a gift from David in the chapter that is special. Have you ever received something that made others jealous as this gift did? Did your gift have a meaning behind it as Tally's had?

No not really. The gifts i get are special, but not as special as those gloves David gave Tally.

"Hearthrob" Blog Post #29

Why would it have been easier for Tally to activate the pendant when she got to the smoke? Explain.

It would have been easier because then she wouldn't had had to find out the smoke was David's real home. also she wouldn't of had to get close to everyone.

"David" Blog Post #28

If David's parents were doctors, Why do you think they ran away? Support your answer with textual evidence.

I think they became doctors so that when they ran away they could live whereever and look however they want.

"They reversed the operation?"
"Yes."

"Work" Blog Post #27

Find an image of a skyline like the one Tally sees. Post it. What is beautiful about it? Is there anything ugly about it?

This image is beautiful beacuse it is a view of the river and of a bridge with lights. It is also pretty because it has a view of the city.
What is ugly about it is that there are so may buildings and you don't really see any land.

"The Model" Blog Post #26

What do you think about Shay's description of a model? Shay and Tally have a messed up view of our time, but what have they got right? (1 paragraph)

I think they don't know very much about models but have some right. Models do have a disease. it is a really bad disease to have. shay is right a little when she says models are kinda like professional pretties.

"Lies" Blog Post #25

"Peris" Blog Post #17

Why do you think Peris comes back? Support your answer with textual evidence.

I think he comes back to tell her to tell everyone about Special circumstances so she will get invited to all the parties and he will to because he is her friend.

"I know you're probaly not supposed to talk about it.
But once you're across the river just drop a few hints
about special -you-know-what and you'll get invited to
all the parties! Just make sure you take me with you.

"Fight" Blog Post #13

Two fights were presented in this chapter. Compare and contrast both of them. List their similarities and differences. Why did each fight take place? What was the outcome of each one?

The two fights were Shay and Tally pretending to fight in the library. The other one was when the both actually fought verballly because Shay doesn't want to turn pretty. The one in the library was just a prank to scare the new Uglies to the dorm. The outcome was that Shay ends up boucing out with one of the life jackets. The other outcome was Shay walked away mad and Tally feels quilty.

#Waiting for David" Blog Post #12

What does the following quote from the chapter tell you about the city?

"That was one thing about being outside the city:
It made all that nature stuff they taught in
school seem a lot more useful. She remembered
now how rainwater fell on the mountains and
soaked into the ground..."

It tells me that the city doesn't really have much nature and that they can survive without it.
